Don’t read farther if you’re waiting to watch this evening’s coverage!

And, actually, I don’t have all that much to say except Team Columbia-HTC are a bunch of badasses (in the good way!). I saw this post-race interview, Hincapie talking to Ventura, where Big George said that they were pretty much just frustrated with the lazy peloton—no one else helping to bring back the breakaway. It wasn’t a plan to attack hard into the crosswinds, but the opportunity was there and no one else wanted to make the race. So, instead of just dragging the remaining 175 riders along (which is often done and makes the Tour quite boring), they hit ‘em hard and made the last 25km very exciting and worthwhile!
Columbia-HTC definitely earned their dinner tonight, and I do hope they taught the rest of the field the right way to do it. I think the other sprinters’ teams will be quite hungry as well after all that effort, but I bet they’ve just been reminded there’s that deserving hunger and the desperate one. They probably don’t want the desperate appetite again!
Team Time Trial right away tomorrow to boot (after the TTT-eque finale to today’s stage)! What a great tour so far! Only thing that could have made today better was a Fabian flyer in the final km (Cancellara or Wegmann—I don’t care!).
